Pizza Rolls

It’s no secret that Brad and I love pizza, in any form – grilled, wrapped into a calzone, or tucked into a pizza bite. These pizza rolls are easy to make, and are great to serve as an appetizer, or even to eat as a meal. We brought these tailgaiting, and they were a huge hit with our friends. The best thing about them is that they taste just as good cold as they do warm, so they are easy to take along to a football game or to a friend’s house. We stuck with the crowd pleasing cheese and pepperoni for our fillings, but feel free to use whatever pizza toppings that your heart desires.

Pizza Rolls
Yields: About 18 rolls

Ingredients:
1 batch of pizza dough, homemade or storebought
1 cup pizza sauce, homemade or storebought
1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup pepperoni, sliced and diced small
Any additional toppings that you prefer

Directions:
Roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle. Top with the sauce, then add your cheese and pepperoni.

Starting with the longest end, gently roll your log, gently tucking the roll with each turn to wrap it tightly. Using a serated knife, slice the log into rolls about 1/2 inch thick.

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchement paper or a silpat. Bake at 450 for 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown. Allow them to cool slightly, and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
