Hi friends! Spring has finally sprung in Western PA and I think we can safely pack up our snow shovels and boots for the year. Until ya know, October or so, when the first snow falls again. As soon as temperatures are above freezing level, Brad and I like to break out the grill and work it back into our regular dinner rotation. There is nothing easier than throwing some meat on the grill for dinner, making a side a dish or two, and dinner is done with minimal work and minimal clean up.
To celebrate the beginning of spring, Shady Brook Farms reached out to help us ring in spring with a fun cookout. If you haven’t heard of Shady Brook Farms, they are all about turkey with a purpose. They offer different turkey products raised without any growth promoting antibiotics, and all their products are raised by independent family farmers, so you know that you can trust that their turkeys are raised humanely. Shady Brook Farms turkey products are available in the following states: ME, NH, VT, NY, NJ, MA, VA, RI, CT, PA, MD, DE, WV, NC, SC,GA, and FL. My sister came in to town last week for Avery’s birthday party (more on that later, my baby is 2!), so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to host a spring BBQ with my family. My parents, sister, my cousin and daughter all joined us for dinner on a gorgeous, sunny Friday night. Shady Brook not only provided us with ground turkey and turkey sausages, they also sent us a whole party pack of goodies – a gorgeous, engraved serving platter, mason jar mugs, fun summery napkins, an array of BBQ sauces and a jar of BBQ spice mix for each guest. SO fun! We had BBQ turkey burgers, my favorite BBQ pasta salad made with the turkey sausage, salad and other side dishes. It was a great way to warm up the grill for the season and spend time with our family.
